Background: Nursing process is a thoughtful approach to identify and solve health problems in order to meet health care needs an approach that according to the  majority of scholars associates with the concept of evidence-based nursing. This study was done to analyze the impact of evidence-based nursing education on five scopes of nursing process among nursing students.

Methods: This quasi-experimental study was conducted on 48 third semester nursing students in Orumie nursing faculty in the academic year 2012-2013. Subjects were collected based on convenience sampling and then randomly divided to intervention and control groups (24 members in each group). Intervention group received evidence-based nursing education. Using a checklist, we evaluated both groups’ styles in writing nursing process. Data was analyzed by SPSS software and chi-square test.

Results: The results of study showed that after the intervention there was a statistically significant difference between the groups. Members of intervention group had better performance in all five scopes of nursing process in comparison with control group members (The percentages of their better performances are as follows: in assessment scope 61/9%, in the priority scope66/9% ,in  the planning scope 72/2%, in implementation77/3%, and in the evaluation 68/4%).

Conclusion: Evidence-based nursing education improves the skills of nursing process more than traditional method, therefore it is recommended to use this method in clinical educations.
