مقدمه: مولتیپل اسکلروزیس (ام. اس) شایع‌ترین بیماری نورولوژیک پیش‌رونده است که در آن میلین سیستم اعصاب مرکزی تخریب می‌شود و مشکلات متعددی را برای فرد مبتلا ایجاد می‌کند و از مهم‌ترین بیماری‌های تغییردهنده زندگی فرد به ویژه در سنین جوانی است که باعث افت شدید سطح عملکرد فردی می‌شود.
هدف مطالعه حاضر مقایسه اثربخشی درمان گروهی مبتنی بر پذیرش و تعهد و داروی آمانتادین بر درد، خستگی و کیفیت زندگی بیماران مبتلا به ام. اس می‌باشد.
روش کار: مطالعه حاضر، نیمه‌تجربی با طرح پیش‌آزمون- پس‌آزمون انجام شد. جامعه آماری تمام افراد مبتلا به ام. اس در استان همدان بود که تعداد 60 بیمار زن با داشتن ملاک‌های ورود، در دسترس به صورت غیرتصادفی انتخاب و به دو گروه مساوی تحت درمان گروهی مبتنی بر پذیرش و تعهد (اکت) و مصرف داروی آمانتادین هر گروه به مدت 3 ماه قرار گرفتند. آزمودنی‌ها پرسشنامه سنجش خستگی (9- FSS)، کیفیت زندگی (29- MSIS) و درد مک‌گیل را پیش‌ و پس از درمان تکمیل کردند. داده‌ها با استفاده از روش آماری آنالیز واریانس، کوواریانس، کروسکال-والیس، LSD و بونفرونی و با کمک نرم‌افزار SPSS نسخه 22 تحلیل شدند.
یافته‌ها: یافته‌های پژوهش نشان داد تفاوت بین مصرف آمانتادین و اکت با برتری تأثیر آمانتادین نسبت به اکت بر درد، خستگی و کیفیت زندگی معنی‌دار نشد (001/0 < P).
نتیجه‌گیری: می‌توان نتیجه گرفت که درمان‌های غیردارویی نیز می‌تواند به عنوان درمان مکمل در کنار درمان‌های پزشکی به کار گرفته شود.
