This study performed to determine the effect of physical activity during dialysis to prevention of anemia in hemodialysis patients. Methods: In this clinical trial, 76 hemodialysis patients in Spring 2015, at Besat and Shahid Beheshti hospitals in Hamadan University of Medical Sciences, Hamadan, Iran Whose met the inclusion criteria were selected and randomly divided into 2 groups: experimental and control. First the levels of RBC, HGB and HCT were evaluated in both groups, then experimental group patients performed Pedaling 4 weeks during 3 sessions per week 15 Minutes twice with foot during dialysis. After 12 session's dialysis, RBC, HGB and HCT of both groups checked again and data were analyzed with software SPSS16 and t-test, paired t-test and covariance. Results: The mean difference of RBC, HCT and HGB before intervention, in two groups with test (t-test) was not significant (p>0.05), The mean difference in blood parameters RBC , HCT and HGB after the intervention in two groups was not significant in patients undergoing hemodialysis (p>0.05), HCT and RBC blood parameters in the experimental group after the intervention is not changed and the test (t-test) was not significant (p>0.05), But the mean difference HGB in the experimental group after the intervention was significant (p=0.03). Parameters in the control group before and after the intervention, was not change, and tests (t-test) was not significant (p>0.05). Conclusion: According to the results of physical training relatively improve HGB , and is effective to prevention anemia in hemodialysis patients, it is recommended that the results of research in education, treatment and health promotion could be used in hemodialysis patients.
