مقدمه: تشخیص بیماری سرطان با ترس از مردن همراه است و بر شأن انسانی فرد به‌شدت تأثیر می‌گذارد. در ایران به مسئله روانی این بیماران از جمله شأن انسانی و مداخلات در این زمینه کمتر پرداخته شده است. هدف پژوهش حاضر تعیین تأثیر آموزش هوش معنوی بر شأن انسانی در بیماران مبتلا به کانسر است.
روش‌کار: این کار آزمایی بالینی تصادفی با گروه کنترل در خرداد و تیرماه ۱۳۹۷-۱۳۹۸ به بررسی ۵۰ بیمار مبتلا به سرطان بستری در بیمارستان انکولوژی امید در شهر مشهد پرداخت. بیماران به روش دردسترس انتخاب شدند و به‌صورت تخصیص تصادفی در دو گروه مداخله (۲۳ نفر) و کنترل (۲۷ نفر) قرار گرفتند. گروه مداخله، تحت آموزش هوش معنوی مطابق مدل کینگ (۲۰۰۸) طی ده جلسه ۱ ساعت و نیم قرار گرفتند و گروه شاهد مراقبت‌های معمول را دریافت کردند. ابزار جمع‌آوری داده‌ها پرسشنامه استاندارد شأن انسانی بود که در دو مرحله قبل از مداخله و ۸ هفته پس از مداخله تکمیل شد. داده‌ها نیز با استفاده از نرم‌افزار SPSS نسخه ۲۱ و آزمون های آماری t تست و t مستقل تجزیه تحلیل شد.
یافته‌ها: هر دو گروه از نظر متغیرهای دموگرافیک همگن بودند و تفاوت آماری معناداری میان گروه‌ها وجود نداشت. نمره شأن انسانی هر دو گروه پیش از ورود به مطالعه، تفاوت آماری معنی‌داری با هم نداشت (P=۰.۸۶)، اما میان نمره شأن انسانی دو گروه قبل از مداخله با ۸ هفته بعد از مداخله تفاوت آمار معنی‌داری مشاهده شد (۰/۰۰۱> P).
نتیجه‌گیری: آموزش هوش معنوی می‌تواند موجب تقویت شأن انسانی در افراد مبتلا به سرطان شود؛ بنابراین توصیه می‌شود این روش در بیمارستان‌ها به کار رود.
