The purpose of this study was to determine the rate of high risk pregnancy and its related factors.  Materials & Methods: In this cross-sectional study by convenient sampling method, 715 women who referred to health centers of Yasouj in 2006, were selected. Data were collected by interviewing women, performing physical examination and using health centers records. Results: The mean age of the samples was years old and mean gravidity rate 66.3% of them were urban and 33.7% rural. 52.4% had at least one of the pregnancy risk factors. 2.1% were 18 y/o and 5.2% were higher than 35 y/o. 18% had history of abortion and 8% cesarean delivery. 7.7% didn't have regular antenatal visits. The most common complications in current pregnancy of them were hemorrhage (7.8%), preterm labor pain(6.4%), urinary tract infections(6%), hypertensive disorders(5.5%), etc. Significant relationship between high parity and low gestational age of mother with high risk pregnancy were observed. Other socio-demographic characteristics had not significant relationship with high risk pregnancy. Conclusion: Health education, widespread practice of family planning and early initiation of prenatal care are suggested to prevent and appropriate management of high risk pregnancy.
