This study aimed to assess the effect of self-care education on self-efficacy in patients with COPD. Method: This quasi-experimental study with pre- post test design was conducted on 60 patients with COPD on Hemadan Shahid Behsti and Beast centers in 2013. Data was collected with demographical check list and COPD self-efficacy scale. Patients were selected randomly and were divided into control and intervention groups. At first, both groups fulfilled the questionnaire and then intervention group was trained face to face in 3 sessions (about 45 minutes in each session) with 3 days intervals, however, control group just received routine cares. Immediately and 1 month after ending the intervention, related information was collected again. Data were analyzed by SPSS20 software. Findings: In test group in comparison among before, immediately after and after one month of intervention there was significant difference in increasing score of self-efficacy and all dimensions (P0.05) and independent t-test (P>0.05) showed no significant difference in self-efficacy and all dimensions between test group, and evidence group before intervention.
