مقدمه: افراد مبتلا به صرع به منظور سازگاری با تشنج و مدیریت آن، نیاز به شناسایی عوامل برانگیزاننده تشنج و به‌کاربردن اقدامات احتیاطی برای به حداقل رساندن آسیب تشنجی دارند. بنابراین، مطالعه حاضر با هدف تعیین تأثیر به کار گیری برنامه آموزشی بر خود مدیریتی بیماران مبتلا به صرع انجام گرفت.
روش‌کار: این پژوهش به روش نیمه تجربی روی ۹۰ بیمار مبتلا به صرع مراجعه‌کننده به انجمن صرع ایران انجام شد. نمونه‌گیری به روش در دسترس بود و نمونه ها به روش تصادفی در دو گروه کنترل (۴۵ نفر) و آزمون (۴۵ نفر) قرار گرفتند. افراد گروه آزمون در سه جلسه آموزش حضوری شرکت کردند که یکی از پژوهشگران در انجمن صرع برگزار می‌کرد. همه بیماران فرم اطلاعات مربوط به بیماری، پرسش‌نامه های متغیرهای دموگرافیک و خودمدیریتی صرع را قبل و ۶ هفته بعد از مداخله تکمیل کردند. سپس داده ها به روش آمار توصیفی (فراوانی، میانگین، انحراف معیار) و استنباطی (آزمون‌های آماری تی‌مستقل و تی‌زوجی) و آزمون کولموگروف - اسمیرنوف با نرم‌افزار SPPS نسخه ۲۲، تحلیل شدند.
یافته‌ها: نتایج مطالعه نشان داد قبل از اجرای برنامه آموزشی، دو گروه کنترل و آزمون در همه ابعاد خودمدیریتی دارویی، اطلاعات تشنج، ایمنی و سبک زندگی، تفاوت معنی‌داری نداشتند (۰/۰۵ <P)، اما پس از مداخله، نمرات خودمدیریتیِ دو گروه در ابعاد یادشده دارای تفاوت معنی‌دار بودند (۰/۰۵>P).
نتیجه گیری: اجرای برنامه آموزشی خودمدیریتی، تأثیری مثبت بر ارتقای رفتارهای خودمدیریتی افراد مبتلا به صرع داشت. اجرای چنین برنامه هایی برای افزایش سازگاریِ افراد مبتلا به صرع با بیماری خود، توصیه می شود.
