Introduction & Objective: When hemodialysis treatment was first used to replace renal function, no one knew how mach dialysis therapy was needed to keep the patients healthy. Dialysis efficacy is one of the predominant factors survivals in hemodialysis patients. There are multiple methods for assessing the adequacy of dialysis. The index KT/V, most commonly used marker for dialysis adequacy. The aim of this study was to determine dialysis adequacy of haemodialytic patients based on urea kinetic modeling in hemodialysis center in Boshehr city.

Materials & Methods: This was prospective study design was applied all of the hemodialytic patients (39 cases) that 2 or 3 number of dialysis per week was selected in total sampling. The total samples it was 15 women and 24 men. Out of 76/9% of total sample was dialyzate 3 times in week. Weight and blood sampling obtained at before &after hemodialysis were determined and KT/V methods were used for adequacy of dialysis. Data collected were analyzed using SPSS, windows version for descriptive (mean- standard deviation) and analytical (X2) statistical methods.

Results: Based on KT/V, 96.7% patients in thrice-weekly group and 100% in twice-weekly group had inadequate dialysis. There was significant difference between the dialysis adequacy and Weight (P<0.05).

Conclusion: In adequate dialysis is also associated with increased hospitalizations and high inpatient costs. The above results indicate the need further in order to determine the underlying reasons for dialysis inadequacy in these patients.
