Introduction:. The aim of this study was to compare the effect of acupressure and valerian oil on sleep satisfaction, heart rate in patients with acute coronary syndrome.

Methods: This study is a double blind 3group clinical trial on 90 patients Samples of the population selected of Sample available then randomly assigned in each group The group of acupressure with valerian oil received massage of acupoint with two drops of Valerian oil second night in hospital for three nights total 18 minutes Acupressure group patient received same acupoint massage with similar technique no oil Patients in the control group massage these points with similar techniques and at the same time received. Patients' heart rate was recorded at the intervention night at the time before intervention, during intervention, immediately after intervention and5minutes after the intervention. The satisfaction of sleep was measured by VAS criteria

Finding: The results showed that after the intervention, sleep satisfaction in the acupressure and acupressure group with valerian oil was significantly higher than the control group, which was statistically significant(P <0.05) There was a significant difference between mean heart rate changes during and after and immediately after intervention with basal heart rate in the 3 groups(p<0.0001) while at the time of 5 minutes after the intervention the mean heart rate There was no significant difference in the group

Conclusion: Acupressure and Valerian oil can both increase sleep satisfaction, relaxation, and therefore reduce heart rate with acute coronary syndrome
