Background: Sexual dysfunction caused serious problems in family life and the quality of life. Many factors effect on sexual function. In this context, the present study was to Evaluation of sexual dysfunctions and its related factors in women experiencing domestic violence had been referred to Forensic Medicine Center of Shirazis written.
Methods: This cross-sectional, descriptive study was conducted on victims of domestic violence had referred to Forensic Medicine Center of Shiraz with a three month period, 197 patients randomly selected in 2014. The study data were collected using demographic information questionnaire, a questionnaire assessing violence against women, General Health Questionnaire (GHQ-28), and Female Sexual Function Index (FSFI). The data were entered into the SPSS/18 statistical software and analyzed using T-test, chi-square test, Pearson’s correlation coefficient and regression analysis.
Result: Mean age was 30.42 ± 6.72 and mean score of sexual function in women 77.9 ± 80.15 mean general health of the 07.18 ± 31.43 were reported. A total of 197 women suffering from domestic violence, 91.9% impaired sexual function, and 85, 3% with mental disorders. Physical symptoms (p=0.027), anxiety and insomnia (p =0.004) and total public health (p =0.041) with the dependent variable of sexual dysfunction in women, and the relationship was significant Also reverse the negative findings indicate that sexual dysfunction is a direct relationship with family involvement and Age of husband.
Conclusion: Sexual dysfunction have the undeniable role on mental health and marital life and Several factors affect on it. consideration these disorders is particular importance.
