Introduction: Menopause is one of the stages of life in women associated with physical and mental changes. The purpose of this study was to compare sexual intimacy, life satisfaction and response strategies to postmenopausal and non-menopausal women referring to health centers of Ahvaz oil industry.

Methods: The research method was a causal-comparative. The sample of this study was 200 women in postmenopausal and non-menopausal women who were selected by available sampling method and based on the criteria for postmenopausal women according to gynecologist diagnosis, age range of 40 to 55 years, minimum level of literacy to class Sixth, and having married non-menopausal women, in addition to having the same conditions and also have a one-year full-time non-stop menstruation courses. The tools consisted of a self-help questionnaire with Bagarrozi, a life satisfaction questionnaire, and a Lazarus coping strategies questionnaire. SPSS version 18 was used for data analysis and the significance level was 0.05.

Results: The mean of sex intimacy score (F=17.26), life satisfaction (F= 8.99), emotional coping (F=32.79), and problem-oriented coping (F=63.01) were significantly different in two groups.

Conclusion: After the onset of menopause, sexual intimacy and life satisfaction are reduced and, preferably, woman physically and emotionally adapted to emotional strategies to deal with stressful situations. Therefore, experts need appropriate psychotherapy for their problems.
