Introduction& Objective : Marriage is the most important decision made in the like spam, and marital satisfaction plays a significant role in matrimony tile.

Women occupation and being out of home, is one of the most effective factors in marital satisfaction this scale is different in various communities and affected by social and individual factors.

Thus, this study conducted and compared marital satisfaction in housewives and employed women in Shahrekord.

Materials & Methods: This study is a descriptive analytic study, which conducted for 200 occupying women (teachers) and 200 housewives in Shahrekord, selected by a simple random sampling strategy. Data gathering included 2 parts:

Demographic characterizations & a questionnaire that contained 47 questions of Enrich marital satisfaction scale. Questionnaires were hilled directly by target groups. Data was analyzed by Pearson correlation and independent samples t test.

Results: Mean scare of enrich rest in employed women was 175.17± 24.47 and in housewives was 162.97 ±26.81 (p<0.01). There was a significant difference between marital satisfaction , place of birth, housing status (p<0.05) and income (p<0.01), in employed women.

While this difference was significant between marital satisfaction , education level, education level and age difference (p<0.05) in housewives.

Conclusion: Being occupied in women in a such traditional city as Shahrekord, not only doesn’t have a negative effect on marital satisfaction, but also a positive one, in accordance to its enhancing effect on family welfare
